PUBLIC NOTICE ‼️
City of Rockmart water customers will be receiving notices on their doors pertaining to a required inventory of the materials used on water service lines. Notices will only be received in the areas where the inventory will be performed in the near future. The notice customers will receive is posted below.
The EPA is requiring all community water systems in the United States to create an inventory of the water service material on both the water system and private side of the meter. In accordance with this requirement, a Contractor hired by the City will need to dig a 1-foot diameter hole on the customer’s side of the meter to visually identify the service line material. We will do our best to keep the hole as small as possible and to restore the place where the hole is dug. Please contact us at 770-684-5454 if you have any concerns. If you prefer, you can send us a photo of the service line and we will not need to dig on your property. The results of the inventory will be available for your review after the inventory has been completed. We appreciate your help in completing our service line inventory.
